Since its beginning in 1826 as an engraver and royal stationer in Paris, the Devambez mission has remained the same; to create items using paper as a medium of power, authority and emotional impact. The storied French maison has won awards and accolades for its mastery of paper and artistic execution. Throughout its history, the house has privately performed bespoke services for the kings of Europe, statesmen, and the most influential artists of the early 20th century including Picasso, Rodin, and Modigliani. Among these prestigious credentials, la maison Devambez more recently published “The Goyard Book” described by Suzy Menkes as “nothing less than a bible of luxury”. Published in a single edition of 233 copies, it is a feat of research, production and presented in a made-to-order Goyard trunk. With this current smoking collection, Devambez turns its focus to the ubiquitous yet long-overlooked rolling paper, elevating it to unprecedented levels of elegance, execution and French luxury.
