DevBlog is an open-source project for creating a place for sharing knowledge about software development and code. If you are looking for a fun project, use latest technologies, and solve current problems, then keep reading. DevBlog has interesting upcoming features that you can implement, in both the frontend (F) and the backend (B): • Infinite scrolling for home page_FB • Ability to follow an author_FB (this is a System Design problem!) • Posts' social media sharing links_F • Posts' filtering and search system in posts index page_F (this will most likely use ElasticSearch or some other microservice buzzed nowadays) • Author's bio info normalization in json blob field in database_B • Website footer_F • Upgrading routes from React Router V5 to V6_F • Ability to delete account_FB • Email notifications option_FB (this is a System Design problem!) • Search engine optimization_F • Further styles for post editor_F • Add mentions and hashtag functionality in post editor (Draft JS)_FB • Add category tags to blog posts_FB • Home page feed system_FB (this is a System Design problem!) Currently DevBlog runs on platform-as-a-service providers (Netlify-frontend; Heroku-backend) for deployment, but later it may well use infrastructure as code.
