Development Link

BRIEF PROFILE Background: Development Link (DELI) is a national non-profit making, civil society organization which was registered with Malawi government under Trustees Incorporation Act in 2018. Development Link was set up in 2014 by public health and community development activists to empower local communities to determine their own development needs through active participation. Development Link’s head office is in Luchenza, with its intended impact areas in Thyolo district in the southern region with plans of rolling out to additional districts within the southern part of MALAWI. Development Link employs ten (10) members of staff who are based at the head office in Luchenza. These include 1 Programs Coordinator, 5 Community Development Facilitators, 1 Accountant, 1 Cleaner and 2 Security Officers besides the Executive Director. Affiliation to Civil Society Networks: Development Link intends to become a member of Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA), NGO Board, Civil Society Education Coalition (CSECO), Malawi Economic Justice Network (MEJN), Malawi Health Equity Network (MHEN), Civil Society Agriculture Network (CISANET), Water and Environmental Sanitation Network (WESN). Principles of Development Link Development Link shall actively promote and contribute to the social and economic well being of the people of Malawi through achieving the following goals: • Clearly establish the principles of sustainable development as stipulated in the SDGs. • Implement the principles of non-discrimination and gender equity and equality measures in Development Link policies and programmes and/or projects. • Identify gaps and stimulate partners to enhance service delivery on HIV & AIDS activities. • Promote full participation of women, girls and boys in all aspects of Development Link activities and structures. • Help match organizational and practical needs to available resources at all levels.
