For over fifteen years, I’ve helped academics and professional writers express themselves with clarity, power, and economy. In concrete terms, I help them get their papers and books published or their dissertations completed. I also work with them to find strategies to hone their writing process and make it more enjoyable. While the majority of my clients work in religious studies, I also have clients in French, Africana studies, Korean, and anthropology. Many of them have a strong focus in gender studies. Their writing reflects their intellect and passion. I help by drawing out their meaning, organizing their words, and showing them how best to shape their delivery for persuasiveness and grace. At a minimum, I help my clients make steady progress in their careers. At best, I help them come to voice and step into their authority as writer-scholars and to appreciate their writing as craft. In sharing what I know about this sometimes elusive art form, I aim to make my assistance less necessary with each project (though not completely unnecessary, I hope!); I educate as I edit and coach.
