Digital Audio Manufacture

The Digital Audio Manufacture is managed by Quentin Nivromont, sound engineer for around fifteen years, who has worked for several years for major fields of audio in France, in research institutes (IRCAM) as well as in consumer audio (Devialet) and live performance (Amadeus). For ten years he has been developing tools around sound spatialization and the optimization of sound systems in general (calibration, sizing, bass correction), in the form of self-enterprises, the latest being Digital Audio Manufacture, founded in 2021. As the world of sound spatialization is booming, the opportunities in this environment are increasing. Indeed, listeners' desire for immersion is increasing in all audio environments, from streaming platforms (Spatial Audio at Apple Music), to general public broadcasting solutions (Dolby Atmos), including car audio, live performance and museography. The solutions offered today are primarily either proprietary or developed by enclosure manufacturers, which increases the cost of investment in these solutions for buyers (little possibility of purchasing a server alone without purchasing speakers), and reduces the types of possible applications of the same algorithm, the algorithms used being specific to a use case. These solutions also rarely include the possibility of integrating multichannel input formats without generating comb filtering effect. It seemed to us, since stereo is still widely used as a format for producing and broadcasting music, to offer a perfect integration of these formats, using an upmix tool and side solutions avoiding bad effects was essential for the adoption of new broadcast formats. With this objective in mind we developed algorithms to allow manufacturers to implement spatialization to their products.
