Digna Biotech

Biopharmaceutical company developing therapeutic and diagnostic products discovered at the University of Navarra’s CIMA (Center for Applied Medical Research) and, less significantly, other premier Spanish academic institutions. The company’s mission is to take its first products up to clinical proof-of-concept and forge partnerships with other biopharmaceutical companies in order to complete clinical development and commercial launch. The company is funded jointly by two Foundations linked to the University of Navarra and a group of 15 investors, and initiated operations in 2004. Currently, it has 34 products under development, a 65 mill € investment plan (15,8 mill € up-to-date + 46,5 mill through 2010), and expects partners to launch its first diagnostic to market in 2008 and its first therapy in 2010.
