It was started in April 2015 by two new age entrepreneurs Dirk Lewis, who led the Global PR for Wipro and Romil Bhakuni an IT professional. Currently, they service whole of Bangalore- Dirk Da Dhobi is the only e-laundry in Bangalore that has an exclusive sq ft facility at Bidadi Industrial area, Bangalore that allows the company to offer professional laundry services at an acceptable price, with a turn around of just 48-72 hours- DirkDaDhobi has the capacity to service over clothes per day but with the growing demand, the plan is to expand the capacity to soon- The company has serviced over customers in just over a year, and close to pieces of cloth including around the house items like drapes, sofa covers, carpets, etc. of which 80% have been dry cleaned- The company aims to convert 60 percent of middle-class working households and upwards who live in cities across the country to completely outsource this mundane chore of laundry, which should in any case be done by professionals- Dirk Da Dhobi is currently the official in-society laundry partner for Purva Fountain Square, Raheja Pebble Bay, Godrej Woodman’s Estate, DSR Woodwinds Estate and Mantri Paradise- It is today the priority partner of UrbanClap, TimeSaverz and Apartment Adda in Bangalore, and is in advanced stages of becoming the laundry partner for "The Laundry Basket" in Bangalore- The company has also been shortlisted for the NASSCOM 10k startup program in India.
