Disability Advocacy

Disability Advocacy NSW provides advocacy support for people with all types of disability. DA was established with the amalgamation of Disability Advocacy Service Hunter (DASH) and Advocacy Northwest (ANW). After a number of years working together, both services believed that they could provide a better service to more people with a disability by joining forces. Combined the services had 35 plus years of experience in advocating for people with a disability. DA operates in the regional and rural areas of the Hunter, North Coast, Mid North Coast, Central West, Nepean-Blue Mountains, Central Coast and New England, Western NSW and Far West regions of New South Wales, Australia. The service geographically covers around two thirds of NSW. ALA has local advocates in Newcastle, Paramatta, Valley Heights, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Taree, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Bathurst, Ballina, Gosford, Muswellbrook and Armidale. The service is funded to provide independent advocacy by Commonwealth Department of Social Services (DSS) and NSW Department of Family and Community Services.
