DCTH was a user-led organisation of disabled people providing advice and support around direct payments (payments in lieu of services for the provision of social services to enable people to lead independent lives with control over how services are provided); independent advocacy to enable people to achieve their rights and life choices; and campaigns and lobbies on behalf of disabled people generally. DITO wasalso a user-led organisation of disabled people providing information, benefits advice, IT training and other skills acquisition to enable people to access employment and volunteering opportunities, and also campaigns on issues such as disability hate crime.
