One of the suppliers from the very beginning was Duke Scientific from the USA, manufacturer of small polystyrene particles used as particle size standards, count controls and for diagnostic applications. In those days, Duke Scientific had no successful distributors elsewhere in Europe and beyond, so Distrilab gradually began fulfilling this role. In 2007 Duke Scientific was acquired by Thermo Scientific. From that time onwards, the Duke Scientific products are supplied under the Thermo Scientific brand. Distrilab continues to be the major distributor of the Thermo Scientific particle group product lines and keeps most products in stock, in order to assure prompt supplies to its customers. The “traditional” laboratory equipment and chemicals activities also continued to thrive. Distrilab distinguishes itself by offering unique technology, such as the rotating and reciprocating piston principle of the valveless ceramic pumps and dispensers from Fluid Metering, the spinning band technology in the fractional distillation systems from BR Instrument, the valves and miniature pumps from Takasago Fluidic Systems, and the ZetaView® Quatt-NTA nanoparticle tracking system from ParticleMetrix. All product lines are supported by Distrilab’s own product specialists. Close cooperation with its suppliers ensures customers optimal support and service. Customers are seen as partners rather than as customers.
