Diwa

DiWA or Disease Watch & Analytics is a virtual planning tool and integrative platform which aims to support decision-makers for pandemic management in Mindanao. It was developed through the four (4) pillars of the AMDABiDSS-Health Research Center: PPASTOL, RESILIEMC, VATAS, and iWAS. Given the current pool of experts in Mindanao and the established linkages of UP Mindanao with the LGUs and local public health officials, the Niche Center in the Region for R&D - University of the Philippines Mindanao (NICER-UPMin) named AMDABiDSS-Health was created to offer decision-support systems (DSS) for health in the Mindanao region. AMDABiDSS-Health or the Center for Applied Modeling, Data Analytics, and Bioinformatics for Decision Support Systems in Health is a research center that focused on deriving insights from patterns and correlations of health-related data in order to generate decision-support systems (DSS) that will empower decision-makers - going beyond research and data. The project finally achieved its goal and launched the web application, DiWA.
