Diya Ghar

Diya Ghar, a registered non-profit organization established in 2016, was founded with a vision of making early childhood education accessible to children from underserved communities, specifically migrant labourers. We operate 28 community centres in Bangalore and Chennai, servicing 1,600+ children. At Diya Ghar, we focus on holistic development with: 1. Montessori-Inspired Education: Transformative programs rooted in Montessori educational philosophy. Through hands-on learning & experiential activities, children thrive & develop in English, Kannada, and Mathematics. Engaging Parents, Building Community: We value the role of parents as partners in their child's education. Through regular PTA Meetings, child progress updates, informative parenting videos, and monthly staff visits to the learning centres, we create a strong sense of community for families. Nourishing Bodies and Minds: We recognize the crucial link between nutrition and learning and ensure that children receive a balanced lunch, eggs, porridge, fruits, and protein bars, meeting 70% of their daily nutritional needs. We also distribute groceries, dry items, and essential supplies to parents. Health and Safety First: We distribute hygiene kits, clothes, footwear, blankets, and sweaters, conduct regular medical camps, and provide medical support, including surgical interventions, to address their healthcare needs.
