Peru is covered by almost 60% of forests. We are the second country with Amazonian forests, the fourth in tropical forests and the ninth in forest extension in general. Our coastal, highland and jungle forests are sources of biodiversity. The canopy, the volume of the immediate tree canopy in contact with the atmospheric column, is an essential component in the functioning of forest ecosystems. The canopy stratum can reach more than 30 meters in height, which generates adapted living conditions and is estimated to harbor 60-90% of the wildlife present in the rainforest. Research at the canopy level involves the technical knowledge of rope access (through work at height and permanent protection equipment), and how to develop a methodology according to the object of study. We are a human group that promotes tree climbing for research purposes in forest ecosystems and environmental education, with direction and emphasis on canopy ecology for greater attention to conservation actions.
