Doug Loves You

Doug is a mobile phone app that provides a geosocial platform with communication, description, media and business listing tools incentivizing users to create positive communities around their favorite local businesses. The app uses Vibes, which are akin to badges or stickers, that enable users to give positive descriptors to businesses, which in turn can communicate with and further reward their customers and potential customers. It's an evolution from review culture by relying exclusively on high vibe communication to enable users to find and support the most deserving businesses while at the same time creating an ever expanding, easily searchable taxonomy accessible to all users (the Vibes and Vibe categories are searchable). The social aspect taps on existing love and support for local businesses (i.e, small, truly local businesses, not big boxes or large chains), which becomes evident to other locals and visitors. The app includes business listings, media tools (images, video, comments, etc.), direct text messaging and Vibe-driven communication threads tied to beloved businesses. Businesses will be able to provide purchase incentives to users, communicate B2C, generate sales, engage and retain customers. They'll also be able to use aggregated data to more effectively reach their audience. Individual users will be able to support businesses they love, utilize rewards as well as find and support the best hyperlocal businesses whenever and wherever they travel.
