Dr. Lisa Sanchez

Welcome! I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of practice experience in the DMV region. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and completed both my internship and postdoctoral training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Subsequently, I worked as a therapist, supervisor, group facilitator, and presenter at a large group practice before launching my own business in 2017. I offer a range of evidence-based therapy and consultation services for children, adolescents and adults of all ages. Specific services may include individual therapy, parent coaching, and consultation to organizations. Common presenting concerns include mood and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, parenting concerns, coping with major life transitions, grief, and employee and student wellness. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is the grounding basis for most treatment, and I also draw heavily on mindfulness and compassion based approaches. I am passionate about providing individualized care to clients and disseminating factual and practical information to the public. I have provided educational presentations and workshops to the community and wellness/anxiety management trainings at school and corporate events. My work has been featured in Bethesda Magazine, WETA and other local media outlets. My strengths as a clinician include my ability to make connections with people, a sense of humor, and flexibility in my approach.
