Since I have been helping young and older entrepreneurs achieve their goals—from small startups to acquiring venture capital or succeeding with an IPO. In shortly after graduating from university, I was given the opportunity to work as a management consultant for a film and music production company with locations in Germany, England, and the USA. I was involved in setting up the controlling system and the business plan and also assisted my client in the hot phase of the IPO. Since then, I have primarily helped startups in many industries, mainly pharma/biotech, internet/technology, and retail. In doing so, I have advised startups on exit decisions (sale of shares), the acquisition of angel capital or venture capital, and the subsequent financing rounds. In addition, I have assisted industrial companies from the pharmaceutical, mechanical engineering, and defense sectors in their planned diversification and acquisition of competitors. Even alongside my second career in academia, first at the University of Mannheim and currently at accadis University of Applied Sciences Bad Homburg, I have not given up the activity of business startup, and startup consulting but have supplemented it with extensive research activities, lectures and the supervision of student projects and spin-offs at several universities. During these years, I found out what makes a successful startup.
