As a professional counselor, consultant and coach, I’ve devoted over 27 years supporting growth and change with individuals and groups, in private practice, in community programs and via seminars and workshops. I’ve taught my parenting program in Oregon, Missouri and now Washington. My program is for parents who want to be involved in their children’s lives, but are physically separated from their children. At my parent training workshops and through individual consultations, noncustodial and long distance parents learn how to remain involved in their child’s daily activity in spite of physical separation. I teach specific activities and routines parents can orchestrate that safeguards interest, involvement and commitment, in spite of a physical separation. Don’t distract good parenting with unfinished business of divorce or separation. Remain in the parental driver seat in spite of physical separation.
