端茶duan Cha

The largest place of production for tea in Taiwan is Nantou County, which is the cradle of Duan Cha. Our tea makers and apprentices have lived in the tea production area of Nantou County for over half a century, and the majority of them are local residents, as such we are extremely familiar with the terroir, hydrology and culture of this tea production area. Starting out from the earliest Dong Ding Oolong Tea, we began to branch out and develop towards high altitude mountain tea production areas such as Shan Lin xi, Ali Shan and Li Shan et cetera. We attained the Grand Prize of Lugu Township Farmers Association Premium Dong Ding Oolong Tea Winter Competition, which is the highest award in the world's largest Oolong tea tournament. This is a erce competition involving thousands of tea farmers and only one will be awarded, as such, most farmers view this prize as the ultimate accolade of tea agriculture and Duan Cha is proud to say that we have been recognized on the highest level. Duan Cha cooperates with inuential tea farms from Taiwan's mountain tea areas including Lishan, Shanlinxi, Alishan and Yuchi Township (Nantou County), which produces a variety of black tea and one of them being world's unique aroma – TTES No. 18 "Red Jade" black tea. These associates have inhabited in the local areas for a substantial amount of time, investing time in the tea business since young and hence providing tea leaves of the best quality to Duan Cha. With our strong and lengthy bond with our associates for over two generations, we are constantly exchanging skills and information regarding the tea industry, which is exactly the reason the tea leaves we produce can continuously retain the highest quality for decades.
