Dubuque Main Street

Dubuque Main Street is a not for profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to the development and ongoing support of downtown as the place to live, work & play by utilizing our four point approach of Design, Organization, Promotion & Economic Development. The Main Street movement, led by the National Main Street Center, involves more than community programs throughout the country and has transformed the way communities think about the revitalization of their historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts. It has helped put historic preservation back in the community revitalization conversation. Dubuque Main Street has been a part of this tradition from the beginning, and is celebrated as the longest-running urban Main Street program in the country. Dubuque Main Street’s Four Point Approach to downtown revitalization was developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s National Center with the goal of economic development within the context of historic preservation.
