Ducfs Launchpad

As DUCFS looks to the future through this year’s campaign, we are excited to announce our new community focused outreach organization - DUCFS Launchpad. Grounded in DUCFS creative philanthropic objectives, Launchpad aims to provide a creative springboard for individuals across the North East, through several outreach projects, towards a brighter future. Through a range of creative programmes, funded by 5% of the DUCFS total, DUCFS Launchpad aims to develop key practical life skills that can be taken into the wider community and professional creative workplace, while building strong bonds with our local community. Launchpad is structured around four pillars reflecting incremental parts of DUCFS: Music, Creative arts, Photography and Community. From September we are excited to be launching our first projects under these themes. 15 adolescents from the local area are excited to embark on our 10 week DJ program commencing in September, with the opportunity to perform at a DUCFS event at the end. Over the subsequent 6 months we hope to hold 4 cycles of our DJ school, supporting 60 local children in pursuing a career in music, opening up opportunities previously unavailable to them. We are also proud to be partnering with local charity RTprojects who strive tackle suicide within the North East through creative arts. Finally, Launchpad Community works with several local community outreach groups on smaller projects. Previously we have ran two successful food and clothing drives to support several homeless groups and refugee communities in the North East.
