The name of the company was inspired by the upbringing of Founder and Executive Chairman, Dartanyon A. Williams. As a child, Dartanyon would journey down a lonely road outside of St. Joseph, Louisiana, to a rural area known as Duck Pond. There, Dartanyon found the time and space to develop curiosities and technological aspirations, which he documented in his bestselling two-volume memoir, The Master Identity Thief.
