Dumas & Vaughn, LLC is a litigation law firm representing survivors of sexual abuse in cases against perpetrators or the organizations that allowed the abuse to happen. Gilion Dumas and Ashley Vaughn represent adults who were sexually abused or exploited as children, usually by trusted adults working in churches or youth organizations. For example, they have brought claims on behalf of clients who were sexually abused in the Boy Scouts; Assemblies of God, Catholic, Latter Day Saints, Seventh Day Adventist, Methodist, Evangelical, and other churches; private and public schools; day care centers; and other youth serving organizations. They also represent employees who were sexually harassed or discriminated against in the workplace. They also handle Title IX cases against schools and colleges for sexual assault. Holding perpetrators and institutions accountable for their wrongdoing can be a powerful tool in the healing process. Listening with respect to a client’s story can be the first step towards justice and healing. At Dumas & Vaughn, much of our work involves helping those who suffered abuse as children to make the important transition from being a victim of abuse to being a survivor of abuse.
