Durrell Conservation Academy

Our founder, Gerald Durrell, believed that saving species from extinction was as much an art as a science. One of his greatest ambitions was to create a training centre which would unite these two disciplines and provide conservationists worldwide with the skills they need to prevent species extinctions. To date we have trained over students from 151 countries who have learnt from some of the world’s leading conservation practitioners in the art and science of species conservation. We deliver a variety of accessible, high quality training and professional development opportunities both in-person and online. Our headquarters in Jersey, and training centre in Mauritius, provide opportunities to attend in-person courses and internships for a life-changing experience. Our online courses are an excellent way to access valuable training, connecting with, and learning alongside conservation practitioners from all around the world.
