E-Cell Iit Roorkee

The Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT-Roorkee (E-Cell IIT Roorkee), previously known as Entrepreneurship Development Cell IIT Roorkee (EDC IITR), was created in the early months of 2006 by a small group of students passionate about entrepreneurship. EDC IITR was established with the objective of creating, fostering and promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth of the nation. E-Cell IIT Roorkee has already taken multiple strides in changing the nation as the students of this society went on to create companies like Razorpay, Blusmart, Log9 Materials and many more raising more than Rs 6200+ crores in total funding. We want to impact the Indian youth by educating them about business and innovation through our content and events. E-Cell IITR conducts one of India’s largest entrepreneurship fests, E-Summit IIT Roorkee where we provide a level platform from local kids dipping their toes in the startup ecosystem to students from top business schools. We connect students, startups, industrial experts and venture capitalists in our campus for 3 days. Our E-Summit hosts the largest startup expo in the country where we invite 40+ startups in an exhibition format event showcasing their prototypes to VCs from all around the world and secure funding. E-Cell IIT Roorkee also hosts TEDxIITRoorkee as we believe in giving the stage to unconventional new ideas to drive innovation and improve the society. Our mission is to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship across India, beginning with outreach to every kid in villages and tier-3 cities of Uttarakhand. We invite the local kids from all Uttarakhand to get a taste of this modern and technological world and create more visionary entrepreneurs.
