EcoDomus provides energy audit, site assessment, and system design & installation services to facilitate utilization of renewable energy as a source for electricity generation (e.g, solar PV and wind), heating, and cooling. Steeltown Solar, a division of EcoDomus Consulting, is focused on residential-scale solar PV in on- and off-grid applications. We partner with energy metering & monitoring, renovation & upgrade, and renewable energy system design & installation companies to develop customised solutions designed to reduce the energy needs of our clients. Our holistic approach includes assessment of energy consumption, efficiency improvements, and the site-specific potential of renewable energy - based generation. Renewable energy - based generation assessment includes consideration of solar PV, solar thermal (including water heating, space heating, and space cooling e.g, absorption chillers), small wind, ground source heat pumps, outdoor wood furnaces, and geothermal. We also lend insight into the potential benefits of passive solar design, natural ventilation, rain/grey water capture, drain water waste-heat recovery & utilization, and intelligent landscaping, including green roofs/walls, and native, perennial & vegetable gardening. bringing the principals of permaculture back into practice. We identify applicable incentive programs e.g, microFIT and rebates, and handle contract administration, permitting, and licensing, as applicable through Hamilton's very own Solar Pirates at Steeltown Solar.
