Our Vision Mental health is a state of well-being in which people realize their abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to contribute to his or her community. Mental health is essential to our mutual and individual ability as humans to think, emote, interact with each other, earn a living and experience a pleasant life. On this basis, the promotion, protection and restoration of mental health can be regarded as a critical concern of people, communities and cultures throughout the globe. One in every four people in the world will be ever affected by mental or neurological disorders during their lifetime. Approximately 450 million people presently suffer from such ailments, placing mental illnesses among the most important causes of ill-health and disability worldwide. Remedies are available, but almost two-thirds of individuals with a proven mental disorder never obtain help from a health professional. As per WHO, Stigma, discrimination and neglect prevent care and treatment from getting people with mental disorders. Who we are? We are a group of health and management experts form top-notch institute like Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, who came up together to work upon a big problem of the community, which is mental health. What we do? We are supporting communities in three broader areas of mental health: Accessibility of quality mental health services: Many times, people do not seek the help of a psychologist because of the stigma associated with the diseases or inability to reach qualified psychologist in their vicinity. Awareness: Still lot of public are not aware about the mental health and their signs and symptoms. This leads to worsening of symptoms and many troubles in personal and familial lives
