We are re-engineering the rice value chain of Ghana to maximize the incomes of smallholder rice farmers. This is because these farmers generate about tonnes of rice husks annually, yet 80%, valued at $36 million, is either burnt or discarded as waste. The underlying cause of this loss is We do this by turning rice husks and plastic waste into durable, affordable and 100% green paving bricks. Through our rice free dehusking and vaporization model of rice husks acquisition, farmers are empowered to earn 34.1% more of the value of 100kg of paddy rice, translating into 300% increase to the profit of 100kg of dehusked paddy rice. This is a model that will both ensure the sustainability of our business while empowering farmers to earn better, live better and farm better.
