From the beginning, the participant is involved in situations in which the language is used in a natural and functional way, with opportunities to discuss topics of personal and professional interest. Classes are centered on participants and not on the teacher, who initiates, maintains, and supervises class activities. The teacher creates an environment in which participants interact through various communication dynamics. Participants engage and use language in a natural and contextualized way.
