efe Consultants Pte Ltd was established in Singapore in September 2018, an indispensable asset in determining the cause of the incident. We provide the scientific investigation of fires, electrical failures & explosions to the private individuals, energy, construction & manufacturing sector clients, loss adjusting companies, insurance companies & legal professions. The cases are investigated in anticipation of litigation and we have experience in both court proceedings & arbitrations. Mr Edwin Low is a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE), UK, and an Associate Member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. Edwin has more than twenty years of experience undertaking the scientific investigation of numerous fire incidents, explosions, electrical failures & personal injury incidents. Those investigations were primarily conducted at the request of insurance clients & their legal advisors. The incidents range from small domestic premises to large industrial complexes. The sites of investigation included shopping malls, warehouses, data centres, cleanrooms, fossil fuel power plants (coal-fired, diesel-fired & natural gas combustion), renewable energy power plants (hydroelectric, wind turbines, solar photovoltaic, aka. photovoltaic systems, comprising land-based PVs, floating FPVs), shipyards, vessels & offshores. Edwin has extensive experience investigating electrical failures in medium-voltage (MV), high-voltage (HV) & extra-high-voltage (EHV) equipment. This includes underground cables, cable joints, bus-bars, switchgear equipment (vacuum insulated, air insulated AIS & gas-insulated GIS), circuit breakers, ring main units (RMUs) uninterruptible power supply units (UPS), diesel rotary uninterruptible power supply units (DRUPS), large commercial motors, wind turbine generators, distribution transformers, power transformers & generator transformers.
