With the aim of providing effective Energy & Efficiency Management System to power utilities across the globe,the 'Efficient Powertech Solutions'(EPS) is established.The company is formed by Ex-NTPC executives who have spent over 35 years, serving the largest power utility of India spending significant time in the area of efficiency, availability and performance improvement. The work carried out has been translated into sustainable systems not only within the company but also at State and IPP’s utilities across India. The interaction with utilities was very valuable in understanding the hurdles being faced by them and providing best possible solution in the Indian context. In order to meet the environmental challenges there is a need to focus on improvements in efficiency, productivity, energy conservation and asset management. Further, there are added mandatory requirements in the country on account of PAT Scheme (Perform, Achieve and Trade). This requires continuous up-gradation of skills and techniques. We aim to develop and demonstrate a variety of deliverable's and services that promote optimal heat rate and minimal cost of operations of thermal power plants. Specific efforts include evaluation methods to improve steam condenser performance; cost-benefit analyses of steam turbine modifications; improvement to fluid flow measurements; best practices for plant performance monitoring and improvement; and technology transfer vehicles such as conferences and workshops. We are dedicated to seek significant efficiency improvements for existing power generating facilities through cost effective operational modifications. The result of such initiatives are: • Improved Efficiency and reduced fuel cost. • Improved availability and emissions goals with existing hardware. • Realize future benefits, including reduced CO2 emissions at costs far lower than those of post- combustion options.
