EGIATEGIA is the pioneer for subsea winemaking, the first Winereef implanted in 2007. At the beginning it was a crazy bet, a nice impertinence tinted with poetry: to make wine under water in the Bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. A wine, maritime and Basque adventure with only one horizon: Freedom! After a fisrt vinification on earth, our wines will naturally and deeply experience a second alcoholic fermentation in very specific physical conditions. Our underwater fermentation tanks are submerged for several months at a depth of 15 meters. The white, red and rosé wines produced in this way are slightly sparkling and have unique aromas.
