El Centro - Centro De Ideas

We are an independent think tank based in Riobamba, Ecuador, dedicated to healthy urbanism, public health policy, and civic education. We work at the intersection of science, culture, and community, fostering dialogue and research that strengthen public institutions and promote sustainable development across Ecuador’s Andean region. Our projects explore how cities can become more livable, inclusive, and environmentally resilient, through interdisciplinary collaboration and citizen participation. By connecting local realities with global ideas, El Centro aims to shape policies, inspire civic leadership, and transform the way we imagine and inhabit our cities.
