El Rio Foundation

The El Rio Foundation is the charity arm of El Rio Hostel, Buritaca. We provide educational, wellbeing, peace-building and environmental programmes to positively impact our local community; a post-conflict zone on the North Caribbean coast of Colombia. - Please click on the link to see video introductions to our lead community programmes for 2024-25. We especially aim to provide fun, free, inclusive, reliable and impactful activities for all young people living in our local area. Thanks to the support of our funding partners, hostel guests, crowd-funders and the hostel itself, we now provide education and joy to 600+ children every week We are extremely proud that El Rio Hostel was named Community hero best hostel in the world by Hostelworld in 2024.
