Elkimia is a Canadian company specialized in research, development and manufacturing of patented active ingredients used for sun protection. Elkimia Inc. was founded in 2004 with a mission to provide products and services for researchers/chemists working in drug discovery. In 2011, Elkimia focused on a new business opportunity in developing new Mycosporine-like Amino Acids (MAAs) mimics as new UV-protectants. These patented mimics have a breakthrough activity in different industries such as cosmetics, textile and coating. While currently we are focusing on mimics for skin care products such as sunscreens and textile such as aramids, our innovative discovery enables us to explore and to develop mimics with therapeutic benefits. Elkimia is a dynamic team of chemists and formulators with close partnerships with many institutions in Canada and internationally.
