Emergency Telecommunications Cluster

The ETC is a global network of organizations working together to provide shared communications services in humanitarian emergencies. The ETC deploys technology solutions and expert personnel to provide the response community with the communications services they need to save lives. ‘ETC2020’ is the strategy that is guiding the network over the next five years as it strengthens local communities as first-responders and evolves to enable innovative and more effective humanitarian assistance, facilitating delivery of digital aid. Today the ETC provides communications services to humanitarians, deploying international equipment and expertise to support emergency response. By 2020, affected people are the first responders. The ETC will work with local communities, humanitarians, private sector and governments to build national networks, equipment and expertise, enabling faster response and connecting all responders.
