Emmaus Cornwall

We are a registered charity seeking to provide help, support, accomodation and work for homeless people in Cornwall - aiming to help those in the most need. We are a part of the Emmaus UK Federation and are working towards establishing accomodation in the County. We seek to work in partnership with all other organisations who are making efforts to improve this serious situation. We run the first of our social enterprises, Emmaus Community Trees, based near St Austell. The tag line for the Nursery is "nurturing people, plants and planet." This phrase encapsulates our overall aim and objectives. We are seeking to be selling over quality trees within the next few years (with all income returning to the charity), from seed we have collected ourselves from well established trees within estates in the County. These trees will contributed to the much needed efforts to increase the overall woodland cover in the County, alongside agroforestry and rewilding projects. We work with a wide spectrum of volunteers from the community, including those who are being socially prescribed for physical and mental health issues. We will be seeking to expand into other ventures, such as community food growing, and other community ventures in time. Our environmental objectives mean that we take all the issues of quality, biosecurity and biodiversity very seriously, enabling us to build a reliable, viable and sutainable business.
