Empowered Connections Counseling is a group practice dedicated to helping you develop meaningful connections with yourself, your significant relationships, and your community. Connections are essential in our lives, and yet we all struggle with them from time to time. You might need support in getting through a particularly difficult time in your life, or you might want to work on barriers to connection, such as communication struggles or conflict. As a client, you can expect that we will take time to get to know you so that we can meet you where you are and work with you to explore whatever is bringing you to therapy. Find a therapist who is a good fit. You may have heard a term in the therapy world called “goodness of fit”. This refers to having a relationship with your therapist in which it feels safe for you to be your unique, vulnerable, authentic self! As with all human relationships, we don’t always “click” with one another. We may end up feeling misunderstood, or we might be looking for a therapist whose life experiences mirror our own. Although similar backgrounds and experiences can be important, a good fit entails feeling heard and understood by your therapist, and that they can provide you with the support you need.
