Empoword Journalism

Welcome to Empoword Journalism. We are an award-winning publication led by women that aims to unite and empower journalists across the globe. We were set up following an online workshop in May 2020 with Kay Burley from Sky News, where she encouraged attendees to document their experiences of Covid-19. We have now grown to 40 editors, nearly 200 contributors, and over 900 members on our Facebook group. We have also won Best Newcomer Publication and highly commended for Best Overall Digital Media at the 2021 SPA awards. We want our community to be as inclusive as possible, with a space for anyone who feels marginalised in the journalism industry. So do let us know if there are any improvements we can make. In this group, you can get any information you need about upcoming projects, feedback on work, and a community of women who can help with any questions you may have about the industry.
