Enterprising Youth Cic

Enterprising Youth are a social enterprise who use youth work methodologies to support young people to improve their lives. We work with those who are, or are at risk of school exclusion and/or becoming involved in the youth justice system. Primarily, we deliver Youth Work Services within schools. We build voluntary relationships with young people and support them to try new experiences to gain new skills and acquire knowledge that will help them understand and navigate their life journey better. The support we offer responds to what the young people want and need. We continue to support the young people as long as they want us to and are helped within their lives and their community to create a better future for themselves. We specialise in using interactive and participative group work methodologies, and we focus on increasing youth engagement and participation. We acknowledge learning with accreditation and extend reach and impact through peer mentoring. We provide consultancy, training and direct delivery to schools and colleges, and other local, national and public sector organisations. We deliver services in-person across Greater Manchester and Lancashire and deliver training online to national audience. Our legal status is a Community Interest Company (CIC). Unlike private businesses any excess we may make is reinvested back into supporting young people. Predominantly our support is provided to young people aged 11-25. We work with targeted individuals, targeted groups and targeted localities. The organisation was created and founded by Dawn Cretney (B.A(Hons)Youth & Community Ed.) and John Thomson (B.A.(Hons)Youth & Community Ed.). Our board and team consists of professionals with experience in youth work, disability, mental health, trauma, urban development, education, criminal justice, business, health, co-design, art and drama, environmental work, and community development.
