Enviropreneur

Over 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from infrastructure systems, energy, transport, buildings, industry and water (UNEP). Changing outcomes means understanding how these systems actually behave at scale. Enviropreneur explores environmental technology as it operates in the real world: within physical limits, economic constraints, and complex, interconnected systems. We focus on: 1. How modern energy, water, waste, materials and climate infrastructure technologies actually work 2. Where promising technologies struggle when deployed at scale 3. What trade-offs appear outside of models and press releases 4. Where optimism is - and isn’t - justified This work is grounded in the belief that sustainability isn’t about perfect solutions or moral claims. It’s about understanding systems clearly enough to make better decisions in practice. Enviropreneur is led by Fauzia Tabassum, a Civil Engineer with experience across environmental systems and technical communication. The project grew from a long-standing curiosity about how environmental technologies behave beyond theory, once cost, materials, operations, and context come into play. Alongside research and analysis, we collaborate on research-led writing and technical storytelling for organisations working on environmental, infrastructure and climate-related challenges.
