ErgonomicsNYC works with individuals and organizations to improve the fit between the individual and the environment. Our goal is to improve function, comfort, safety, and conditions for musculoskeletal health wellness and decrease risk of injury. We provide onsite assessments and solutions in residential, office and industrial environments. We have significant experience addressing the needs of workers in office environments. We understand that task needs vary significantly from one industry to the next therefore approach each situation from that organizations unique needs and objectives. We provide specific recommendations on a scope items including seating, devices to adjust surface heights and input devices selection. We teach individuals how to use the controls on their chairs, ways to improve posture and how to work more effienctiently from a biomechanical perspective. We work with organizations improve employee comfort and to create and communicate a culture of safety and wellbeing for their employees. We work with individuals with more serious mobility impairments such as hemiplegia or amputation be able to return to work or stay working efficiently at jobs. As experts in job analysis and individual performance we devise solutions that help bridge the gap between not-quite-work feasible - to fully productive. We work collaboratively and engage the use of technological aids and assistive devices to maximize access to computerized devices and interfaces. We perform functional and work capacity evaluations for the legal, medical and insurance industries. We can analyze work to determine the critical factors for job performance and quantify and describe job demands. Our unique specialization in anatomy and function of the upper extremity coupled with our background and experience in biomechanics, ergonomics and human function make us uniquely effective in addressing the functional needs of individuals.
