Esperanza Urbana

Founded in 2017, and incorporated in 2018, Esperanza Urbana is a Costa Rican non-profit founded with the objective of helping the homeless community living on the streets of Costa Rica's capital city, San Jose. We focus our collaborative efforts on the areas we have found to be the largest hindrance affecting people experiencing homelessness: detox, rehab, employment, housing. We aim to provide those who want to leave the street continuity of support through their transition as well as to educate communities about homelessness throughout Costa Rica and elsewhere.
