Essence Bjj

Essence BJJ is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy network in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving more than 700 active members. Founded in 2018, Essence BJJ has become one of Northern California’s leading destinations for martial arts, wellness, and community. Grounded in the core principles of Discipline, Technique, and Community, Essence BJJ provides a complete martial arts experience that goes beyond the mats. Our structured programs for kids, teens, and adults combine technical mastery with physical conditioning, mental focus, and a culture of respect and support. Our teaching is guided by the 7–5–3 Code, inspired by the samurai philosophy of bushido and preserved through the vision of Carlos and Helio Gracie. This code reflects spirit, body, and mind, helping students gain benefits that last a lifetime both on and off the mats. In everything we do, we create the conditions for students to discover their full potential. We focus on the details: how classes are taught, how spaces are designed, and how members are supported. Those details define the Essence experience and the results it delivers.
