EST RES (Energy Systems Technology for Renewable Energy Sources) was founded in 2005 by Niko A. ILIADIS and Alfred KARNER as a sister company of EST Energietechnik GmbH for the activities in Switzerland, France, Greece, South East Europe, Turkey, Africa and Middle East. EST Energietechnik GmbH was founded in 1997 by Alfred Karner. Mr. KARNER has installed the first photovoltaic (PV) system for Siemens AG Germany in 1982 in Egypt as installation manager. Until today, EST companies have developed over 300 MW installations) in the field of large photovoltaic projects, roof projects, hybrid systems, UPS-systems and diesel generator units throughout the world as a: Development, Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operation and Maintenance company. Between 2007 to 2012, EST Energietechnik GmbH, through its sister company alkaSOL GmbH manufactures its own PV Panels (alkaSOL) Since 2009, EST RES, through its sister company EnerStruc manufactures, its own trackers (alkaTRACK / EnerTRACK), its own structures (alkaBASE / EnerBASE, alkaROOF / EnerROOF, alkaROOFi / EnerROOFi) and Solar Car Ports (alkaPORT / EnerPORT)
