Et-Vlaanderen
The Einstein Telescope is a large-scale international scientific infrastructure project to detect gravitational waves. Flanders supports the ET project with as goal to be the first in the world to build a third-generation gravitational-wave detector, in the Euregio Meus-Rhine (EMR). This future advanced observatory offers Flanders the opportunity to position itself at the forefront of the international scientific community and intensify the ecosystem of high-tech companies and leading research institutes in Flanders and the surrounding regions and countries. ET-Vlaanderen (ET-Flanders) is the Flemish organisation responsible to stimulate the contribution of Flemish companies to the development and use of the Einstein Telescope, thereby maximalizing the economic return for our region. In addition, we implement a pro-active policy to strengthen our candidature, together with the EMR partners. We also develop a wide range of communication and outreach initiatives to create societal support and instigate enthousiasm with youth for STEM educations.
