Respiratory rate is one of the key vital signs used in medicine, alongside blood pressure, temperature and pulse, to detect early warning signs in rapidly progressive medical conditions e.g. Infection SEPSIS PNEUMOTHRAX COPD. Today the most common method used outside the intensive care, is to manually count the number of times the chest elevate and deprivate. Eupnea's goal is to develop a cost effective sensor which gives a precise and continuous digital reading of the respiratory rate.
