Evaluation by Design helps education, technology, and social-impact leaders turn data into actionable insights. Founded in 2020 by Dr. Jason Ravitz, an evaluation and research professional with over 25 years of experience driving strategy, implementation, insights, and impact measurement for educational technology pioneers, Evaluation by Design is passionate about helping organizations learn, improve, and grow their impact. Our accomplishments include widely cited measures and studies of project-based learning for the Buck Institute for Education (now PBLWorks); evaluation capacity building and STEM-CS initiatives at Google; and coaching program evaluations at Digital Promise. We have also advanced national and state-level data strategies for school-based health centers (SBHCs), supported food and health initiatives, and secured evaluation awards for NIH, Department of Education, and NSF grants totaling more than $4 million.
