Fablab O

As the first built and actively run fablab in China, FabLab O Shanghai is founded by College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University. Fablab O Shanghai located in Shanghai Design Center in front of angry birds’plaza and near TJAD (The Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University)the future Chinese Silicon Valley. The abundant surrounding resources helps Fablab O Shanghai play a pivotal rule in incubating future design talents. In the past several years, FABO has held over 100 interdisciplinary open-night events and 80 workshops topics on open software and hardware, and hosted the US-China Youth Maker Contest, Cross-Strait Youth Maker Competition, Intelligent Wearable Contest among China, Japan and Korea. In the year 2015, FABO undertook Sub-Forum during Pujiang Innovation Forum by China Ministry of Science and Technology; 2017, FABO also hosted the with Chinese Association of Education. Fablab O is constantly exploring the practice of developing the maker and STEAM curriculum system in China with the global context. On the basis of the global FabAcademy course at MIT, FABO Academy X is a localized system for universities, vocational colleges and high schools. FABO Playground specially aim at K12's education. FABO courses structures a series of "Project Based Learning " thematic modules, including "Sustainability ","Synthetic Biology"," Artificial Intelligence "," Wearable "," Robots "," Augmented Reality "," 3D Printing "," Future Life "," Aircraft "and so on. Besides FABO Shanghai, Fablab O opened its Shenzhen lab in LonGong District in June 2015 and FABO Suzhou lab opened its door in New District in August 2015. FABO is establishing Chinese network in more universities, vocational colleges, high schools, middle schools and primary schools in many cities around China.
