FACCTing endeavors to turn theories into reality by providing educational tools to learn practical investment knowledge and apply them through mock trading. We provide step-by-step analysis of various financial models (DCF, DDM, COMPS, etc) for real public companies. Our models explain the process of these models step-by-step, showing what the different variables in the formula mean, and how and why they are used in the context of valuation. It helps students understand how these models are derived and the different characteristics of each model, enabling them to draw their own conclusions of which model to use for different companies and eventually make their decision to buy or sell the stock. This solves the problem of students’ tendency to invest without an analytical mind, which is unhealthy and dangerous. Our mock trading module provides an environment where students can apply these models and financial knowledge learned through our education tools to actual real-world stock trading. Our mock trading module uses real-world data that is updated in real-time to replicate the current market environment, providing opportunities for students to test what they learned and practice trading. However, since we understand all of these are useless if people don’t apply them, we developed modules like trading competition, ranking, quiz, and friends to keep them motivated to constantly learn and apply the tools we provide. We currently have a plan to gamify our platform by adding features like user level-ups, quests, and a community where users can form a team and compete for profitability.
