FacePal is the first Palestinian payment gateway that enables customers to shop online using their Face ID and Financial Digital ID (FDID), authorized by the Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA). It removes the need for intermediaries like Visa, Mastercard, or PalPay — offering a direct, secure, and cost-effective payment solution for local businesses and consumers. Built on the PMA’s eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) system, FacePal allows users to onboard easily, create their FacePal Wallet, and connect their settlement accounts directly with banks through secure APIs. This integration ensures compliance, trust, and instant account synchronization. When customers shop online, they simply click “Pay with FacePal”. A secure popup scans their face using advanced machine learning algorithms, verifies their identity with ID+(PMA’s verification gateway), and confirms account balance before approving the transaction. Funds are then transferred instantly from the customer’s account to the merchant’s account, including a small FacePal service fee (0.75% – 1.0%), much lower than global providers like Visa or Apple Pay. Today, most online shopping in Palestine relies on cash-on-delivery, delaying settlements and creating financial complexity. FacePal solves this by enabling instant digital payments, improving cash flow, and supporting faster growth for e-commerce businesses. Beyond convenience, FacePal enhances financial transparency, helps banks reduce outstanding debts, and supports government oversight of the digital economy. Its AI-powered fraud detection system assigns real-time suspicion scores to protect against fraudulent activities.
